My father was Bosun on the Rangitiki.He died in Hamburg whilst still employed by the New Zealand Shipping Line in the late fifties.His name was Robert Jamieson from Edinburgh Scotland.

I was an A.B on the Rangitiki in 1957,and also on the Rhuahine,Cambridge,and the Wharanui on the M.A.N.Z run,was ten years at sea and loved every minute of it,this is a grand site and cant wait to see it when it gets bigger.

My Grandfather (John Duffy) Sailed on one of these boats and I have a tankard with the ships crest and his name and birthday engraved onto it - we had many photos of the ship which have unfortunately been lost over the years. We also had slides showing the many places my grandfather visited whilst serving on the ship.

Hello, interesting site... my mother and her sister left Poland to go to NZ from England 1938/39 on the RANGATIKI it is very hard to find out much during this time... her name is Ursula Margarete Wolf her sister Trutale Erika Wolf
It would be great to find out more about this trip ...hope someone has some info.....
